Earlier this week, Microsoft started a preview version of Skype for Outlook.com, to deliver what is almost like web-based Unified Communications. Currently, the preview is only available in the UK, but they’re planning to also offer it in the USA and Germany in the next few weeks. By bringing Skype together with your email, Microsoft creates another way for connecting the people you care about most.
The preview version of Skype allows you to enjoy Skype video and audio calls right from your inbox which makes communication easier.
Outlook.com is a new personal email platform from Microsoft that has attracted over 60 million users in the six months since its launch.
How to get Skype
In order to use Skype on Outlook.com, you’ll have to download a plugin for your browser. It’s currently available for the most recent versions of Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox. After that, you just need to link Skype and Outlook.com accounts.
