Nokia Lumia 920

Google Android and Apple’s iOS are currently the head of the conusmer cell phone marketplace. However, with the impending launch of Windows 8 for PC operating sytems, Nokia has released the most likely contender. One of the first Windows 8 devices, the Nokia Lumia 920 deatures a 4.5-inch screen, a 1.5GHz processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

It’s the camera that has people talking. The 920 employs a PureView camera, with a floating lens that delivers mechanical image stabilization (most stabilize the image digitally, and we’ve all seen the less-than-stunning results).

The Nokia Lumina 920 is available in bright colors, separating it from the iPhone and Droid marketplace’s options. The Windows 8 platform also boasts a variety of new apps.

What do you think it would take Nokia and Microsoft to be a more threatening competitor to Apple, Samsung and Google?
